Netflix has released the list of TV shows that Canadians binge-watch the most — and the most popular may come as a surprise.
Specifically, the streaming company looked at "binge-racers" — that is, people who speedily watch as many episodes as they can in the first 24 hours after the show's season release.
The binge phenomenon has exploded, with millions of people watching entire seasons in a matter of hours or days, and newspapers, blogs and online magazines publishing season recaps and reviews before many viewers have even seen the first episode.
According to Netflix, the number of subscribers worldwide who binge-race has grown from 200,000 in 2013 to more than five million in 2017.
(For the record, the data also takes time zones into account.)
