A train derailed around noon at CN's Sarnia Yard, which is near the Indian Road overpass in Sarnia. There were no injuries or spills, and there is no threat to public safety.

A train derailed around 12 p.m. near the Indian Road overpass in Sarnia Thursday. Approximately 10 cars were involved in the incident, said Mike Otis, fire life safety educator for SFRS.

"Sarnia Fire Rescue Service is here on scene just [as a] safety precaution. There are no leaks or immediate safety concerns at this time," he added. Automobile traffic is not affected.

It is expected it will take crews several hours to re-rail the cars. (Colin Graf)

CN spokesperson Jonathan Abecassis said the incident took place at the company's Sarnia Yard and no injuries occurred.

The cause is still under investigation.
