Fire fighters received multiple emergency calls just before 4 p.m. about smoke coming from the building, a 3-storey townhouse complex with 15 units, Ottawa Fire Services said in a media release.
Booth Street was closed from Albert to Elm streets. The fire service cautioned people to avoid the area if possible.

No one was injured in the fire, and there is no word on damages yet.
