Bathurst man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Police are asking the public's help in locating a 36-year-old Bathurst man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Police are asking the public's help in locating a 36-year-old Bathurst man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Zachariah Russell is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of uttering threats and mischief. The charges are in connection with a stabbing, Northeast District RCMP said in a statement Thursday.

Police responded to a report of a man stabbed "several times" outside a home in Gloucester Junction, a 10-minute drive south of Bathurst, shortly after 12:30 a.m. on July 8. The victim was taken to hospital and released, while the suspect fled.

Police said Russell's whereabouts are unknown at this time, but it's believed he could be in the Chaleur area.

He is six feet two inches tall and 210 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

He has several tattoos, including a skull with a snake coming out of it on his right forearm, a skull on his left shoulder and another skull on the left side of his neck.

RCMP said anyone who spots Russell should not approach him but call police immediately.
