A Hamilton man is facing theft charges after a police officer allegedly spotted him dragging a "perfectly good snow blower" through the east end on Monday night.
According to a news release, an officer was on patrol in the area of Roxborough Avenue and Ottawa Street North around 11:30 p.m. when he saw a man "dragging backwards what appeared to be a perfectly good snow blower through the snow."
The officer followed the tracks the snow blower had left in the fresh snow, which led him to the doorway of a shed in the backyard of a home, police say.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on charges of theft and possession of stolen property.
"The snow blower has been returned to its owner, so he may continue to tackle mother nature's winter elements," the police news release reads.
