A man and a woman from St. Catharines have been arrested and charged with second degree murder in connection to the deaths of two people just south of Algonquin Provincial Park.

In January, the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of human remains found in the area of Glamor Lake Road in Highlands East Township in Haliburton County. Police identified Deidra Ann Smith, 35, and Ghislain Robichaud, 34, both from St. Catharines, as the deceased. Police said in a press release they were "both victims of foul play."

Three arrests were made, OPP say, on July 10 in connection with the deaths. A man, 36, and a woman, 37, were arrested and charged with second degree murder and performing an "indignity to human remains." Another woman, 36, also from St. Catharines, was charged with "Accessory After the Fact to Murder," the release said.
